After her two-season stint hosting MTV’s It’s on with Alexa Chung, the TV host turned top fashion collaborator is returning to US television this year. According to WWD, she’ll be following in the footsteps of Heidi Klum to host a new design competition show on Lifetime called 24-Hour Catwalk. What ever happened to that PBS thrift-shopping series she was supposed to star in this summer? And why isn’t America giving up on Alexa Chung?
In case you’re not keeping track, here’s a quick overview of Alexa Chung’s television hosting history: from 2006 to 2007, she hosted Popworld on the UK’s Channel 4; from 2007 to mid-April 2009, she hosted a number of non-fashion-related shows on Channel 4 (including Big Brother) and became an official anchor of the network; from June to December 2009, she made her US debut hosting MTV’s It’s on with Alexa Chung for two seasons; in 2010, she returned to the UK to host Frock Me with fashion designer Henry Holland and Gonzo with Alexa Chung, a UK chat show.
We love us some adorable Alexa, so fingers crossed that this new show will finally stick.
